Really enjoyed painting the apple from observation and playing with many levels of opacity. Jennifer– I’m sure you’ll notice that the apple and spoon are at a different sharpness level than the napkin I placed them on, that’s because I set up a still life, did most of the foreground work, and then had to come back to the napkin at a later time. I tried to focus on some of the tiny details in the apple, like the small dots you see surrounding the top of the honey crisp apple, and the color changes between pink, yellow and red. There was also a cool highlight of color radiating from the apple onto the spoon, giving it a pink glow.
